Our annual robotics field trip/workshop will be held at the McGill's Bellairs research institute on the Caribbean island of Barbados, on January 8-15, 2016.
The workshop will have two types of events(i) classical research talks by participants and(ii) robotics field trials to collect for example vision data on the coral reef (in particular for aquatic, amphibious, and aerial vehicles).Many members of the NCFRN will participate to this event, including Prof. Dudek (McGill University), Prof. Jenkin (York University), Prof. Vaughan (SFU), Prof. Dave Meger (McGill University), Prof. Ping Tan (SFU). Jon Kelly (UTIAS) and members of their teams.
The week will be filled with experiments underwater, in the air, on the ground and on the beach. Last year, we also organized informal talks in the evening and at lunch time, so that researchers had time to present their own work. There are opportunities for diving along with other members of the group (although certification is required). Here's a list of researchers who are also invited to participate.
