The annual York/McGill Barbados Sea Trials took place in January 2014 at McGill's Bellairs Research Institute, in St. James Parish, Barbados. This year there were attendees from around the NCFRN, including members of Greg Dudek's lab, Mike Jenkin's lab, Inna Sharf's lab, Ralf Bachmayer's lab, and the Open Source Robotics Foundation.
Time was allocated for talks by Prof. Greg Dudek, Dirk Thomas of OSRF, Canada Research Chair (Tier I) Roussos Dimitrakopoulos of the Department of Mining and Materials Engineering at McGill, and Anqi Xu of the Dudek lab.
Research spanning human-robot interaction underwater in various forms, new underwater maneuvers for the AQUA robot, and rendezvous at sea was successfully done during this trip.
